Vice Chairperson

Niles French brings over 10 years of extensive grant experience and expertise in grant management, economic development strategy, policy formulation, and fostering regional growth. He recently joined the Northwell Health team as the Senior Director of Grants
Management at Staten Island University Hospital.  

Prior to his new role with Northwell Health, Niles served as the Senior Representative of
Economic Development for National Grid, Niles oversaw many economic development
programs for NYC and Long Island that were aimed at enhancing economic vitality and
creating sustainable job opportunities.  

French previously was the First Vice President of Project with Staten Island Economic Development Corporation. In this role, he led public affairs, managed capital projects,
supervised day to day operations for the New Dorp Business Improvement District, and oversaw the small business grant fund. Niles is regarded for his innovative approaches
to economic development, collaborative strategic partnerships, and advocating for
sustainable development. Prior to the SIEDC, he served as the Grants and Development Manager for Historic Richmond Town and was an adjust professor at the College of Staten Island. 

French holds a Master of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the College of Staten Island. He is a past recipient of the SIEDC 20 Under 40 Leadership Award, proudly served as the 2022 Sunrise Day Camp Co-Chair, and is a board member for the Staten Island Museum.
